Cam Skattebo Will Be The STEAL Of The Draft

In my opinion, The 2025 NFL draft will be remembered for the big names of the future, the controversy surrounding QB Shedeur Sanders, and the great selections made by the New York Giants

As said already in my recent blog: https://kulasportsnews.wixsite.com/kulasportsnews/post/thenewyorkgiantshavefoundtheirfuture I believe that the Giants' 1st-round selections; Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart will be stars in the league in the future. Now, I want to add another name to that list, which is RB Cam Skattebo, the Giants' 4th-round pick.

This past college season, Skattebo became a household name, especially following his dominate performance at the 2025 Peach Bowl. At the Peach Bowl, Skattebo finished the game with 143 rushing yards, 86 receiving yards, and 42 passing yards, ending with a total of 271 yards. Even in the teams loss, Skattebo was named as the Bowl's Offensive MVP. Skattebo caught the attention of many football fans, including myself.

Skattebo ended his senior year appearing in 13 games, all of which he started in, rushing for a total of 1,711 yards and scoring 21 rushing touchdowns. He was a potential Heisman Trophy candidate this year, finishing in 5th place of voting.

Going into the 2025 draft, I expected to see Skattebo's name be called in the earlier rounds, considering RB Ashton Jeanty was the 6th overall pick, and Skattebo finished the year 2nd to him in rushing yards. Even with those kinds of stats, Skattebo fell in the draft, and luckily for the Giants, he was available at the 105th pick.

When I watch Skattebo play, I don't necessarily see the most "typical" RB, but I see a guy who cares and will put his life on the line for the game of football. NFL GM's overlooked him due to his style, but the Giants saw something in him others did not. His game may not look like guys like Christian McCaffrey or Saquon Barkley, but he plays with all his heart and that's what Giants fans want and need from an RB.

I believe Skattebo will shine in New York and become the Giants' next star RB.
